Was going through some of my blog entries and was thinking about some of my frequent acronyms. Most of them are known, but still worth mentioning here. Many are hedges.

  • FLOSS: Free/Libre/Open Source Software

  • TBC: To Be Continued
  • RTFM: Read The Fine Manual (polite version for “Read The F… Manual“)
  • RTFA: Read The Fine Article (haven’t RTFA)
  • ÀMHA: À Mon Humble Avis
  • À+: À plus tard!
  • ÀLP: À la prochaine!
  • ABM: American Bashing Mode (coined by a colleague from the U.S.)
  • PTR: Promotion, Tenure, Reappointment (in universities in colleges, especially)
  • SBM: Slightly Better Muffin.
  • 1337: Hacker/geek/elite (from leet).
  • TIMTOWTDI: There Is More Than One Way To Do It.
  • GTD: Getting Things Done

      Sinon, c’est mes mises à jour (dents/tweets) qui sont plus souvent bilingues.
